Who remembers the wooden dugout? The one hitter that people would smoke in decades past to get that beautiful medicine into their lungs even if they were in public?

I remember one time in my youth while doing a landscaping job, discovering a dugout. I remember driving in traffic and looking to my right and seeing someone packing a dugout and smoking it. It wasn’t til I saw a dugout in use, that I was able to see it being used in public finally.

All this to say, the dugout form factor really is something that fits quite well into American culture. People are just too caught up in their hustle and bustle to really see what’s going on around them. Those that have heightened situational awareness while in public, well people using their medicine is generally the least of their worries.

I always thought that traditional dugout had crucial design flaws that eventually ruin the entire form factor. It was functional, but it got dirty quick and that smell oh my god that smell.

Using and Cleaning the X7 One Hitter

Grind, or mill, fill the pods, insert the pods into the, and put them in the pod cylinder. When you switch pods, you can stick your used pod into the empty hole in the pod cylinder, then there is enough grip to unscrew the pod from the X7 One-Hitter. Then you stick the one hitter into the next fresh pod, turn until it’s secure, then remove the loaded X7 from the cylinder and light. Don’t forget to put the charcoal filter in if you want (they’re the same between devices which is nice).

I sometimes corner these bowls depending on how tight I packed it, but the traditional way is to smoke the whole thing in one go.

Weedgets suggested putting the spent pods back in so you can clean them later. I had to retrain myself, and not just try to tap out the spent pod every time. It is more efficient to empty and refill pods 5 at a time. It does get ashier inside the pod cylinder if you put ash in there, though. Flavor chasers will want to avoid that, because it does impact the other stuff you put in there. For those seeking medicine, it probably doesn’t matter. To each their own. I keep this in my cooler bag as a backup when on the go. I keep it loaded with the absolute best flower I can find. The uppity stuff that has effects that you can’t find at a dispensary. It’s a special pick me up in case I need it, and I’ve run out of rosin of the same cultivar.

When it comes time to clean, it’s small enough to sink the whole thing into rubbing alcohol if you want – even the case if yer crazy. You can just clean the tips or pods for a few sessions, or do the whole thing all at once.

All in all, the X7 is something that old heads that like dugouts, and want a more lung friendly experience, need to consider. For your health, any price is worth it and at under $100, this is a no brainer investment for the health conscious dugout smoker. I know it’s a niche! If you’re a pipe smoker, consider the Maze-X instead for the same level of smellproof and carbon filtration but with even more cooling cuz of the maze.
